Burdens Made Light: I Am The Face

The goal of the I AM THE FACE campaign is simple: to spread awareness of pregnancy/infant loss, and raise support for those who are affected by it.

A few things worth checking out at their website are:

Myth Vs. Truth - various facts and statistics about miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss
Faces of Loss - personal stories of miscarriage, stillbirth, & infant loss; searchable by name, state, cause, weeks gestation, and year
I AM THE FACE badge - add one of these images as on button on your blog or a profile picture on facebook (especially in October -national pregnancy and infant loss awareness month). Badges are available for both those that are the face of loss and for supporters.

Mormon Lingo

You might find me using some words in my posts that you aren't familiar with. Here's a little explanation of some of them. If there are other words you want explained shoot me an email!

Mormon - a nick-name given to the church and its members because of the Book of Mormon. The actual title of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And yes, we're Christian.

Ward - members of the church are organized into congregations determined by where you live. Each congregation is called a ward.

Visiting Teacher - each woman (18+) in the ward has someone assigned to make sure her and her family's spiritual and temporal needs are met.
